When my atheists kids get made fun of for their lack of belief in the god de jour, I tell them it is OK to hide by telling people they believe in God. I tell them to simply tell themselves that "God is Love" -- I tell them they don't have to tell the church-goers that there is not a God that heals the sick, makes tornadoes or makes you successful.
